Instagram

often times, it feels like instagram is a home for a lot of insecure people who believe they're amazing because they can fit in a beauty standard. i guess that's the way of life for so many people. they have a solid understanding of what it means to be beautiful, sometimes even in another culture than their default one, and they try their best to exploit it on social media to get likes, but all they do is get tongue-in-cheek comments. they keep trying to post and share theirselves to the world and all, but keep getting disappointed. they internalized this beauty standard as part as theirselves, because parts of it resonate in their soul, especially when they look in the mirror.

maybe this is called hachiko syndrome.

i hope to see instagram's userbase change into people who have worked hard on theirselves to realize their true beauty, not cowards hiding in front of expensive cameras they know make them wince.

:)
